Day after Christmas nature walk

We took a little nature walk the day after Christmas.  There was plenty of fresh Christmas snow.

Reno sledding team!

The girls tried out the sleds on our neighbor's driveway.  It was chilly but great fun! Soon we'll have no snow left because Ashley is eating it all.

First snowman

This time there was enough snow to make our first snowman.

Grace and Andy did a great job!  There was just enough time for a little snow play before it started snowing again.

Decorating the tree

It's a very tall tree, a little on the thin side, but it has lots of character!

After all that decorating we spent a little time by the warm fire.

There was just enough snow to do some sledding.  Not quite enough for a snowman.  Hopefully soon...

After a VERY windy night, we woke up to this.  We're supposed to get more tonight.

Looks like we won't be dreaming of a white Christmas...we'll have one!

How Nevada folk get their Christmas tree...

Our Neighbor gave us a permit to cut down our own Christmas tree.  It was quite an adventure on a small and very bumpy dirt road in the mountains.  We rescued a tree that someone had abandoned and officially cut one down too!  We even saw some of the locals.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
