Day after Christmas nature walk

We took a little nature walk the day after Christmas.  There was plenty of fresh Christmas snow.

The girls tried out the sleds on our neighbor's driveway.  It was chilly but great fun! Soon we'll have no snow left because Ashley is eating it all.

First snowman

This time there was enough snow to make our first snowman.

Grace and Andy did a great job!  There was just enough time for a little snow play before it started snowing again.

It's a very tall tree, a little on the thin side, but it has lots of character!

After all that decorating we spent a little time by the warm fire.

There was just enough snow to do some sledding.  Not quite enough for a snowman.  Hopefully soon...

After a VERY windy night, we woke up to this.  We're supposed to get more tonight.

Looks like we won't be dreaming of a white Christmas...we'll have one!

How Nevada folk get their Christmas tree...

Our Neighbor gave us a permit to cut down our own Christmas tree.  It was quite an adventure on a small and very bumpy dirt road in the mountains.  We rescued a tree that someone had abandoned and officially cut one down too!  We even saw some of the locals.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

When going to turn off the extra night light, I noticed an extra body in Grace's bed.  Who needs a blanket when you've got a kitty!

Snow already?

It started off as a very light snow.

Seeing snow for the first time - had to taste it!

And so our journey begins...

One of the last days in the old house...endless amounts of boxes.  Packing is a pain and very stressful.  Although the girls did enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner in front of the TV for a couple days.
